A senior Hamas official on Monday stated that the Palestinian group is willing to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for a "serious prisoner swap" and guarantee that Israel will end the war in Gaza, as per the reports.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to dismiss soldiers from active duty who have signed the petitions.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reports that many Israeli soldiers have signed a letter calling for an end to the war in Gaza.
According to reports, Hamas is in talks in Cairo with mediators from Egypt and Qatar.
Citing senior Hamas official Taher Al-Nunu, Arab News reported that we are ready to release all Israeli captives in exchange for a serious prisoner swap deal, an end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the entry of humanitarian aid.
"The issue is not the number of captives. But rather that the occupation is reneging on its commitments, blocking the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and continuing the war," he said.
"Hamas has therefore stressed the need for guarantees to compel the occupation (Israel) to uphold the agreement," he added.
According to Al Jazeera, many Israeli soldiers have signed a letter calling for an end to the war on Gaza and immediate negotiations.
Citing Israeli Army Radio, Al Jazeera reported that a group of 150 Golani Brigade members have joined the call to end the war, adding their names to thousands of others in a sign of dissent that has alarmed the Israeli government.
Last week, several petitions were circulated within the Israeli military.
The first letter was signed by 1,000 Israeli Air Force reserves, and subsequent letters were circulated among seniors and officers serving in the Armoured Corps, Navy and other military units.
In a separate petition, 200 Israeli military personnel signed on Sunday.
