In the wake of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, 32 airports across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh had been ordered to shut down for civil operations.
The 32 airports closed across northern and western regions of India have now reopened. As per an official notice from the Airports Authority of India, these airports have now been reopened for civil flight operations in the wake of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
"Attention Flyers; reference notice issued for temporary closure of 32 Airports for civil Aircraft operations till 05:29 hrs of 15 May 2025.It is informed that these Airports are now available for civil Aircraft operations with immediate effect," read a statement issued by AAI.
"It is recommended for travellers to check flight status directly with Airlines and monitor airlines' websites for regular updates," the statement added further.

On Saturday, a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) were issued, announcing the temporary closure of the 32 airports.

Airports across north, northwestern and western India were closed after India's Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
