As hostilities flare along the India–Pakistan border, a flood of misinformation has surged across social media platforms, prompting India라이브 바카라 Press Information Bureau (PIB) to issue a series of fact-checks debunking widely shared false claims.
One of the most viral assertions claimed that Squadron Leader Shivani Singh, a female officer in the Indian Air Force, had been captured in Pakistan. The rumour gained traction through pro-Pakistan social media accounts but was swiftly dismissed by PIB Fact Check as entirely fabricated.
Another widely circulated video of an explosion claimed that Pakistan had fired missiles at New Delhi Airport. PIB refuted this claim, attributing the explosion to an unrelated gas station explosion in Aden, Yemen, in August 2024.
A third piece of disinformation claimed that Pakistani forces had destroyed an Indian S-400 air defence system. Here too, the PIB clarified on X that no such incident had occurred and shared the hashtag #IndiaFightsPropaganda.
Earlier in the week, the same unit also debunked false narratives regarding a cyberattack on India라이브 바카라 power grid and an alleged drone strike on Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in Pakistan.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid amplifying unverified claims, emphasising the need to rely on information issued by official sources.
The PIB warned that the coordinated spread of such content appears designed to provoke fear, mislead citizens, and deepen communal and regional divisions
