Weather Wrap: Heatwave Alert For Delhi, Odisha, Rajasthan And More ; Northeast And South To Witness Rainfall

IMD has issued an ‘orange alert’ for Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Bargarh districts of Odisha.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heatwave conditions in cities like Odisha, Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar and other states.

On the other hand Northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya etc and states in southern part, like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and others will experience rainfall today.

Heatwave Alerts:

Yellow Alert In Delhi

IMD has issued a yellow alert in Delhi due to heatwave conditions from Thursday to Saturday. Today the maximum temperature can rise up to 41 Degree Celsius. The weather will remain clear and sunny today.

IMD has advised people to take precautions, especially infants, elderly and those who have health diseases.

AQI In Delhi 

The Air Quality Index (AQI) ranks poorly in several areas of Delhi today, like Okhla, Annad Vihar, R K Puram, Chandni Chowk, Dwarka, Shadipur etc.

Weather In Odisha, Bihar, Rajasthan And More

Several Northern, Central and Eastern states will experience heatwave conditions today, as per IMD report. States like Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana will record severe heat waves today. 

IMD has issued an ‘orange alert’ for Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Bargarh districts of Odisha.

IMD has mentioned, “Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee and carbonated soft drinks, which dehydrate the body and avoid high-protein food and do not eat stale food… keep livestock in cool and shady places and arrange drinking water for them”.

Rainfall In Northeast And South

Heavy rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds are predicted in Northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura from April 24 to April 26

Isolated rainfall can be observed in southern states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh today, IMD forecasted.
