Earlier, there were reports that a media briefing was scheduled for Saturday at 5.45 am in the South Block of the Secretariat Building.
Notably, the South Block houses the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs.
Urging India and Pakistan to de-escalate and 'engage in direct dialogue towards peaceful outcome', the G7 countries said in a statement, "Further military escalation between India and Pakistan poses serious threat to regional stability".
"We are deeply concerned for safety of civilians on both sides."
They said, "We continue to monitor events closely and express our support for swift, lasting diplomatic resolution."
A senior government official was killed and his two staff members were critically injured in Pakistani shelling in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir early Saturday, officials said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa and his two staff members were seriously injured when an artillery shell hit his residence in Rajouri town, the officials said.
They were rushed to the Government Medical College. Thapa succumbed to his injuries while the condition of his staff members is stated to be critical, according to the officials.

Jammu and Kahsmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirms that Additional District Development Commissioner was killed by Pakistan shelling in Rajouri after his house was attacked on Friday.
Abdullah wrote on X platform, "Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the J&K Administration Services. Just yesterday he was accompanying the Deputy CM around the district & attended the online meeting I chaired. Today the residence of the officer was hit by Pak shelling as they targeted Rajouri town killing our Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa. I’ve no words to express my shock & sadness at this terrible loss of life. May his soul rest in peace."
Explosion-like sounds were heard in Pathankot district of Punjab early Saturday morning, amid the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan.
The blast sounds were heard around 5 am. There was no official word in this regard.
Authorities enforced a blackout in Pathankot on Friday night and urged residents to stay indoors.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saudi Arabia has confirmed the visit of Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir to India. As per the official statement, Riyadh called for urgent de-escalation between India and Pakistan and to "end the ongoing military confrontation and resort to dialogue and diplomatic channels."
Thirty-two airports across northern and western parts of the country, including Srinagar and Amritsar, have been closed for civilian flight operations till May 15. This decision comes amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan since Operation Sindoor.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation authorities have issued a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) announcing the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India for all civil flight operations.
The closure will be effective from "May 9, 2025, to May 14, 2025 (which corresponds to 0529 IST on 15th May 2025), due to operational reasons," DGCA said in a release.
The airports include Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, and Jammu.
Other airports are Jaisalmer, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), and Leh.
Singapore has said it is gravely concerned about the ongoing "military confrontation" between India and Pakistan and has urged both parties to de-escalate.
Tensions between India and Pakistan soared significantly after the Indian armed forces on Wednesday conducted precision strikes targeting terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that had cross-border linkages.
Pakistan launched a fresh wave of drone attacks targeting 26 locations in India -- from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat -- for the second night on Friday.
"Singapore is gravely concerned about the ongoing military confrontation between India and Pakistan following the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22," Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Friday.
"We call on both parties to de-escalate tensions through diplomatic means and ensure the safety of all civilians," it said.

In its latest attack, Pakistan launched several drones over the Line of Control and International Border with India, prompting blackouts and triggering air raid sirens across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat.
"Drones have been sighted at 26 locations along the International Border and LoC with Pakistan. These include suspected armed drones. The locations include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala, " read the official statement issued by the Defence Ministry on Friday.
"Regrettably, an armed drone targeted a civilian area in Ferozpur, resulting in injuries to members of a local family. The injured have been provided medical assistance and the area has been sanitised by security forces," it added further.
Foreign ministers of the G7 countries and the European Union have released a joint statement urging India and Pakistan to exercise “maximum restraint” and called for “immediate deescalation.”
"The ministers and the high representative of the EU strongly condemn the egregious terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and urge maximum restraint from both India and Pakistan. Further military escalation poses a serious threat to regional stability. We are deeply concerned for the safety of civilians on both sides,” the statement said.
“We call for immediate de-escalation and encourage both countries to engage in direct dialogue towards a peaceful outcome. We continue to monitor events closely and express our support for a swift and lasting diplomatic resolution,” it added.
G7 countries comprise of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Pakistan Civil Aviation has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that it is closing its airspace from 3:15am (22:15 GMT) on May 10 to 12pm (07.00 GMT). This comes after multiple explosions were heard near Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi.
Three members of a family were injured in Punjab라이브 바카라 Ferozepur district after a Pakistani drone crashed and sparked a fire in a civilian area, in what officials describe as a serious escalation of cross-border drone activity. The incident, reported by the Press Trust of India (PTI), has raised fresh concerns over growing aerial threats along India라이브 바카라 border regions.
The drone crash occurred in the border village of Khai Pheme Ke, where debris from the intercepted drone fell onto the home of Lakhwinder Singh. The resulting blaze left Singh, his wife, and his brother Monu with severe injuries. All three were taken to a private hospital, where Singh remains in critical condition.
Pakistan has shut its airspace till 12 Noon. This comes after explosions were heard across Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Shorkot and Lahore.
