India-Pakistan Tensions LIVE: Special Defence briefing on India-Pakistan military action has begun. Ahead of the MEA briefing on Saturday, US President Donald Trump declared that Washington has brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. GMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai says, "In the last few years, the character of terrorist activities have changed. Innocent civilians were being attacked.. 'Pahalgam tak paap ka ye ghada bhar chuka tha'..."
Speaking at the briefing, Lt General Rajiv Ghai said, "Operation Sindoor has been prosecuted due to the synergy between the three forces, support from the government and India's citizens ."
Air Marshal AK Bharti speaking at the military briefing said, "Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and take them head on. Another highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence system, the Akash system. Putting together and operationalising the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the government of India in the last decade."
He also said, "Numerous waves of drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles employed by Pakistan were also thwarted by the indigenously developed soft and hard kill counter-UAS systems and the well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel."
Air Marshal AK Bharti said, "We have only attacked a terror organisation on May 7, it was essential and what ever happened, Pakistan was responsible."
In another update on Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai and Vice Admiral AN Pramod have shared images of debris and weapons of the Pakistani military brought down by the Indian Air Defence systems. These included images of air-to-air missiles, likely long-range rockets, and loitering munitions.
Air Marshal AK Bharti said, "It is a pity that the Pakistani military chose to intervene and that for terrorists, and hence we chose to respond".
