India Suspends Visas For Pakistani Nationals In Wake Of Pahalgam Attack

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, all Indian visas issued to Pakistani nationals stand revoked, effective April 27.

In response to the Pahalgam attack, India has officially suspended all visas for Pakistani nationals. This decision is part of the five key actions named by the Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, all Indian visas issued to Pakistani nationals stand revoked, effective April 27.

Furthermore, medical visas will remain valid till April 29. Pakistani nationals currently in India have been directed to leave the country before their revised visa expiry dates.

"In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025. Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025," read the official statement issued by MEA.

"Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest," the MEA statement adds further.

On April 22, a group of militants opened fire at tourists in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam. As per the Indian government, a total of 25 Indians and one Nepali tourist was killed.
