Following a major security beef-up in southern Kashmir after the Pahalgam attack, authorities have restricted the movement of tourists and non-locals, particularly along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

A vehicle carrying a group of non-locals for paint work in South Kashmir라이브 바카라 Anantnag was turned back to Pampore. Despite pleading with police personnel, the vehicle driver was asked to return to Srinagar.
Across South Kashmir, vehicles were barred from being parked outside one of the hospitals, which was ringed by a heavy contingent of force personnel to provide protective cover to nonlocal attendants.
Parts of South Kashmir, more particularly Anantang, which remained the epicentre of security-related activity after the militant attack in Pahalgam, wore a deserted look as people largely chose to stay indoors, restricting their movement on the roads.
Shops and business establishments were, however, open in the interior areas of south Kashmir, where life went on normally. Key roads along the Jammu-Srinagar highway remained filled with the baton and gun-wielding force personnel. The only life visible was the movement of the security convoys during the day.
At Sangam chowk, a key road connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country, barbed wire spools cut off movement on village roads.
Mukhar Ahmad, a driver from Kashmir라이브 바카라 Pampore area, said that he was disallowed from travelling to Anantang to carry along passengers, most of whom were non-locals travelling for already arranged paint work.
“I would have to return their money partly as I am not allowed to move to Anantnag,” he said.
Abdul Rehman, a non-local, said that he arrived in Kashmir earlier during the day by travelling via the Mughal road due to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway after landslides at Ramban, and was to attend to work, but was asked not to proceed ahead.
Across southern Kashmir today, the security was strengthened while a cordon and search operation remained in place in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, at the site of the militant attack.
The high mountain passes in Southern Kashmir, which remain interconnected, have seen protracted action by the security forces against the militants in the past.
In September 2023, a DSP and an Army colonel lost their lives as the operation spilt into the mountain range of Kokernag in southern Kashmir.
