Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) President Kamal Haasan on March 5 launched a strong criticism of the BJP-led central government, addressing the delimitation and language controversies. He claimed that the government is attempting to create a Hindia rather than preserving the integrity of India.

During an all-party meeting convened by MK Stalin on the issue, Haasan stated that the Centre라이브 바카라 delimitation proposal threatens India라이브 바카라 federal structure and could lead to the imposition of a uniform, homogenized vision of Hindia.

"We envision an inclusive India, but they want to create 'Hindia.' Why try to fix something that isn't broken? There is no need to repeatedly disrupt a functioning democracy. No matter how constituencies are redrawn, the ones most affected will always be the non-Hindi-speaking states. This move undermines federalism and is entirely unnecessary," Haasan stated.

Haasan said that keeping the number of parliamentary representatives unchanged is crucial to preserving democracy, federalism, and India's diversity. The remarks were made at an all-party meeting, which was convened by Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin.

"In 1976 and again in 2001, despite being from different political parties with different ideologies, the Prime Ministers of those times respected federalism and refrained from redrawing parliamentary constituencies based on population," Hassan said.

NEP Row

The Tamil Nadu government and the Union government have been at loggerheads on NEP. Earlier, CM Stalin had asked Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on doing politics on this issue.

"Who is doing politics in education - you or us? Is the blackmail that fund release only if the trilingual policy was accepted, not politics? Is imposing Hindi in the name of NEP, not politics? Is converting a multi-lingual and plural country into a single-language country and one nation, not politics? Is not converting the funds meant for a scheme as a 'condition' for implementing another scheme, not politics? Stalin asked.

On Pradhan's contention that Tamil Nadu was losing Rs 5,000 crore for not implementing the PM Shri School initiative, Stalin said "Union Minister it doesn't take us a second to say we will not give you the tax collections from Tamil Nadu."
