Following this attack, several airports across northern India have been shut down until further notice.
In view of the rising tensions and Operation Sindoor, India has decided to close down the airports across Northern States. The affected airports include Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh), Leh, Jammu and Srinagar (J&K), Amritsar (Punjab), Bikaner (Rajasthan), and Hindon in Delhi NCR.

Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.
"These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," reads the official press release issued by the government.
In the wake of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Ministry of Home Affairs had called on states to conduct war mock drills on May 7.
These mock drills would work towards preparing civil defences. The mock drills would range from air raid sirens, civilian shelter and more.
For Wednesday, as per the order released by MHA, the war mock drills will be carried out across northern and western states and union territories.
