Amid escalating tensions caused due to the Indian armed forces launching a missile attack against Pakistan on Wednesday morning, more than 200 flights and at least 18 airports, including Srinagar have been shut down temporarily, as reported by PTI.
According to sources, all the airports that have been shut are located in the northern and western parts of the country including Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar.

According to sources, all the airports that have been shut are located in the northern and western parts of the country including Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar.
Out of the 200 flights cancelled by several airlines, 160 have been suspended by Indigo alone. Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and a few foreign airlines who have cancelled their services to and from various airports.
In a statement pertaining to the suspended flights, Indigo airlines posted on X stating that the passengers holding valid tickets for the said period will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations.
“We are anticipating changes in flight schedules across our network and sincerely advise all customers to stay updated on their flight status before heading to the airport," the airline posted on X.
SpiceJet also posted on X asserting that the airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar are closed until further notice.
The move comes after the Indian armed forces conducted by carrying out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
