Weather Wrap: Heatwave Warning On For Northwest, Central India; Northeast Braces For Rainfall

Heatwave Alert : Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal will experience heat waves from April 25 to April 26.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heatwave conditions in Northwest and Central part of India,Where on the other hand Northeast and Southern states brace for rainfall on April 25. A yellow alert has been issued by IMD in Delhi.

Delhi Weather

IMD has issued a ‘yellow alert’ in Delhi which suggests ‘to be aware’ as heatwave conditions have been predicted from April 25 to April 26. The maximum temperature can mark around 41-43 Degree Celsius with a minimum temperature of 21.6 Degree Celsius.

The sky will remain partly cloudy. From April 27 to May 1, no heatwave conditions in Delhi is forecasted. 

Delhi AQI

The Air Quality Index(AQI) in Delhi scores poorly in many areas, like Dwarka, Noidsa, Chandni Chowk, Shadipur, R K Puram etc, while the AQI in Anand Vihar, Okhla ranks in the ‘very poor’ category.

Heatwave in Northwest And Central States

IMD has forecasted heatwave conditions in many states over the coming days. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal will experience heat waves from April 25 to April 26.

Heatwave in Rajasthan and in West Madhya Pradesh is predicted during 25th-30th April. Heatwave has been predicted in Haryana And Punjab during April 25th-29th. On April 25, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Madhya Maharashtra will brace for heat waves.

Rainfall Forecast

Heavy rainfall can be observed in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh during April 25th-27th, IMD predicted. Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura will brace for rainfall during April 25th-26th. 

Southern parts of India like Kerala , Tamil Nadu, coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry will observe light to moderate rainfall during next seven days. 

Due to heavy rain in the Northern Sikkim region, Over thousand tourists were stranded in the Northern Sikkim region as heavy rain resulted in landslides.

During April 25 and 26, isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning can be observed over Western Himalayan region.
