With less than a month remaining for the ultimate Test clash between South Africa and Australia at Lord라이브 바카라, the historic venue is gearing up to host one of the most anticipated matches in recent red-ball history.
In a major announcement on Wednesday, the ICC revealed that the total prize pool for the final now stands at a staggering USD $5.76 million — more than double the previous editions.
The champions will take home a record USD $3.6 million, up from the USD $1.6 million awarded to New Zealand in 2021 and Australia in 2023. The runners-up won’t be left too disappointed either, earning USD $2.16 million — again, a significant rise from the USD $800,000 handed out in the past.
India, who finished third in the WTC standings, will receive USD 1.44 million. The remaining teams will be awarded prize money based on their final positions on the points table.
To mark the 30-day countdown to what the ICC is branding the ‘Ultimate Test’, a promotional video featuring modern-day stars and former greats was unveiled.
Among those featured were South Africa captain Temba Bavuma, ace pacer Kagiso Rabada, Aiden Markram, and Australia라이브 바카라 stalwarts Steve Smith and Travis Head. Legends such as Dale Steyn, Shaun Pollock, Matthew Hayden, Mel Jones, and Ravi Shastri lent their voice and legacy to the campaign, further elevating the build-up to the final.
South Africa라이브 바카라 journey to Lord라이브 바카라 has been a story of dominance and consistency. Topping the WTC standings, they defeated Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, while managing a hard-fought draw at home against India.
Australia, the defending champions, confirmed their place in the final with a 3-1 triumph over India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Their campaign also included a 3-0 sweep over Pakistan and series victories away in New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
ICC Chair Jay Shah praised the quality of cricket across this third cycle of the WTC and emphasized the significance of this final. While South Africa eyes its first-ever ICC title, Australia aims to become the only team to win the WTC crown twice.
“We have witnessed a very interesting third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship, where the finalists were decided only towards the end of the competition.
“The championship has showcased remarkable performances from players of different teams, culminating in a final between these two exceptional squads - a true celebration of cricket.
