Gavaskar라이브 바카라 appeal came in the wake of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that claimed 26 lives. In response to the attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor,’ targeting terror camps across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Following India라이브 바카라 military response, tensions between the two nations escalated, forcing the suspension of the IPL. With a ceasefire now in place, the tournament is set to resume, but Gavaskar has urged the BCCI to approach the remaining matches with sensitivity.
Speaking to Sports Today, Gavaskar said, “What I would really like to see is. These are the last few matches, we have had about 60 games or thereabouts. I think it is the last 15 or 16 games. I would sincerely hope, because of what has happened and some families have lost their near and dear ones, I would like that there is no music. Let's not have the DJS screaming in the middle of an over."
“None of that. Let the games be played. Let the crowds come in. Let's just have a tournament, the balance of a tournament. It's just no dancing girls, nothing. Just cricket would be a really nice way to respect the sentiment of the families who have lost their near and dear ones,” he added.
The former India captain also praised the decision to suspend the tournament for a week, acknowledging that it was the right call given the tense situation at the border.
“The suspension happened suddenly, but quite correctly,” Gavaskar remarked. “At that stage, with hostilities at their peak, there was no place for sport. But now that a ceasefire is in place, I believe the tournament will resume."
The BCCI confirmed the revised schedule for IPL 2025 on Monday night. The tournament will restart on May 17, with 17 games set to be played across six venues. The final will take place on June 3.
