As per a report in the Times of India, Mayank Yadav and Akash Deep are both currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru while Avesh Khan too has not joined the training camp of the side that will be led by Rishabh Pant this season. Mohsin Khan has joined the squad but, as per the report, is not bowling.

Mayank has started bowling but is not going full tilt yet while Akash Deep seems set to miss the start of the season, the report states.

LSG begin their campaign on Monday, March 24 against Delhi Capitals in Vizag.

LSG had built their side on an all-Indian bowling line-up with foreign batters adding to the firepower. However, ahead of the start of the competition, things are not going as per plan for the franchise. Coached by Justin Langer, LSG parted ways with their captain KL Rahul ahead of the season and signed Pant at the auction for a record sum of Rs 27 crore.

LSG Potential Replacements

According to the report, Shardul Thakur and Shivam Mavi are the frontrunners to grab contracts for the Lucknow-based franchise. At the last auction, Thakur was shockingly not bid for by any franchise and went unsold. Thakur who is primarily a bowler but can also swing the bat hard has played 95 IPL games. Mavi has played 32 IPL matches, all for KKR, but has not bowled in the IPL since 2022.

LSG have some rookie Indian fast bowlers but the only foreign name among pacers is Shamar Joseph.
