Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings had to share a point each after thunderstorm and rain did not allow the second innings beyond an over and the result has really made the points table interesting. But a lot more interesting things are happening in and around the IPL 2025. Here is a look at all of them.

First Punjab Kings washout

In their 18-year run in the IPL, Punjab Kings or their earlier version Kings XI Punjab had never suffered a rain washout. However, the fateful day finally came yesterday as their encounter against KKR was washed out. Punjab had done well till then and would have been in prime position to get those two points. Half-centuries from openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had pushed PBKS to 201/5 but KKR could not bat after the first over due to rain.

Prabhsimran's switch hit

Switch hits are tough to execute and to hit them against Sunil Narine becomes an even tougher proposition. However, Prabhsimran Singh showed on Saturday why PBKS rate him so highly. He switch hit Narine for a massive six and then did the same against Varun Chakravarthy to get a four. Prabhsimran scored 83 off 49 to take PBKS to 201/5 but the match could not be completed.

Double header today

Sunday brings two crucial games yet again. First up it will be Mumbai Indians against Lucknow Super Giants, a team they have beaten just once in seven meetings. The winner tonight will get to 12 points in 10 games and get into top four while the loser while be stuck at 10 points in as many games making things harder for the losing side.

The evening game sees second-placed Delhi Capitals take on third-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The winner will go to the top of the table and will be just a win away from sealing their play-off spot.
