Mohammed Siraj dismissed the opener batter Travis Head in the first over to give the Titans their dream start. He also dismissed the other opener, Abhishek Sharma, in his third over.
Ishan Kishan was looking good, but Prasidh Krishna got rid of him soon. Heinrich Klaasen added 50 runs for the fourth wicket with Nitish Kumar Reddy, but the explosive duo looked out of touch during their time at the crease.
Reddy made a 34-ball 31, which was very opposite of his batting style. Klaasen also found it difficult to connect the ball. Sai Kishore took their wickets.
Aniket Verma (18) and Pat Cummins (22 off nine balls) played quick cameos which helped SRH set a 153-run target for their opponents.
Siraj took a four-wicket haul, whereas Krishna and Kishore took a couple of wickets each. Veteran seamer Ishant Sharma leaked 53 runs in his four overs.
Rashid Khan failed to take any wickets in this match as well. He has taken only one wicket in the last four IPL matches. In IPL 2025, he has bowled 14 overs so far in the four matches and has only one wicket to his name while conceding 143 runs at an economy rate of above 10.
While chasing the target, GT lost the wicket of Sai Sudharsan early. Jos Buttler also went back to the pavilion without adding a run to his name. GT were once reeling on 16/2, but Washington Sundar came to bat at number four and formed a partnership with the captain, Gill.
The duo added 90 runs for the third wicket and kept GT alive in the game. Sundar missed a well-deserved half-century but missed by just one run.
The Impact player Sherfane Rutherford came after that and targeted Abhishek Sharma. He hit four boundaries in his over to finish the game early. He made an unbeaten 36 off just 16 balls, including six fours and a six.
Siraj was named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance. Now, GT will take on the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, 9 April in Ahmedabad. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Punjab Kings on Saturday, 12 April at the same venue.
