Broadcast of WWE WrestleMania 41 begins at 4:30am India time, with several fights lined up before the main event featuring between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. The marquee wrestling entertainment event will be live streamed on the Netflix app and website in India and all other countries except the United States, where it will be streamed on Peacock.
Even as the coverage has begun, with Triple H officially welcoming viewers to the start of Wrestlemania 41, news has trickled in of Rey Mysterio being ruled out of his fight against El Grande Americano due to injury. Mysterio will be replaced by Rey Fenix, who debuted on SmackDown a fortnight back.
The first fight of night one is between Jey Uso and Gunther for the world heavyweight title. Gunther is the defending champion, and Uso the challenger. The atmosphere is electric at Allegiant Stadium, where a 65,000-strong crowd is roaring on.
We have a new world heavyweight champion. Jey Uso makes his dream come true by getting the better of holder Gunther, who had tried to leave with his title in between. The crowd erupts as Jey Uso lets the emotions flow.
Up next, we have The New Day taking on the War Raiders for the World Tag-Team title. Erik and Ivar have the better of the early exchanges against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, putting the challengers under pressure.
And that's it. The New Day Run away, quite literally, with the World Tag-Team belts. The win comes almost entirely against the run of play as the war Raiders seemed to have the upper hand for the longest time. But Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods spring a surprise to leave the audience stunned too.
Jade Cargill gets the better of former tag-team partner Naomi in a grudge match. And thus, Cargill exacts revenge against Naomi, who had attacked her backstage in 2024. The old friends had thus turned foes, and it is Cargill who has the last laugh on the mega stage.
We now are set for another mouth-watering clash. LA Knight will defend his United States title against Jacob Fatu. A big fight coming up.
LA Knight almost wins back his title but Jacob Fatu decides to keep the fight going on. LA Knight gets his finisher but Fatu manages to touch the ropes before the three-count from referee and LA Knight is shocked.
It is over! Jacob Fatu is the new United States Champion. LA Knight has been dethroned. A massive moment for Fatu and he will definitely cherish it. Three back-to-back moonsaults and that sealed the fate of this bout. LA Knight just cannot kick out of it and Fatu is the winner.
Things continue to move fast in Vegas and next up we have a Lucha Libre clash where El Grande Americano is to take on Rey Fenix. Remember, earlier today it was announced that WWE has acquired the Lucha Libre company AAA.
El Grande Americano gets his first WrestleMania win on his debut night in the promotion. A headbutt to Rey Fenix and he cannot recover from that. While El Grande Americano has won this game, there was a mysterious personality in a mask at the ringside. Who was that? Commentators thought it was Chad Gable. But we do not have an answer at this point.
We are once again underway with Charlotte Flair challenging Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship title. The match is now underway as the bell has rung.
Tiffany Stratton has defended her Women's World title. A brilliant win for her and Charlotte Flair is lying in the ring in disappointment. Stratton finishes things off with her moonsault and Charlotte has no replies to that. A massive, massive win for Stratton and that too against Charlotte Flair. Never easy but she anyway does it.
Well then. The wait is about to be over. Entrances are underway. It is a triple threat clash between the three top stars in the brand. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins vs CM Punk. It can not get better than this. We are all set to get an amazing clash.
A Pedigree and then a Curb Stomp by Seth Rollins to Roman Reigns and he thinks he has won the match. Only for Roman Reigns to kick out at the last second. Brilliant bit of action and the crowd is now fully invested in the clash. CM Punk took an early headstart in the match but since then it has been even before Seth threatened to wrap up the clash.
Shocking! Paul Heyman switches sides and he has made Seth Rollins the winner of this triple threat clash.
Heyman first gave a steel chair to CM Punk before giving him a low blow. Then he proceeded to give that same chair to Roman Reigns and as soon as it looked Roman will reign supreme, Heyman gave him one below the belt as well making way for Seth Rollins to steal the win.
