Real-life sisters Kate Mara and Rooney Mara will share the same screen space in Bucking Fastard, by renowned German filmmaker Werner Herzog. The film marks the real-sisters' first on-screen collaboration.
As per Deadline, Herzog will write and direct Bucking Fastard. The upcoming film will be produced by Ariel Leon Isacovitch and Agnes Chu, along with Andrea Bucko and Emanuele Moretti of Cobalt Sky Motion Picture Group, and Clara Wu Tsai. The production is said to start later this year in Ireland and Slovenia.
Bucking Fastard is based on the true story of inseparable twin sisters Joan and Jean, who live on the fringes of society. Nothing much about the film has been revealed yet.
On the work front, Rooney, the two-time Oscar nominee was recently seen in 2024 drama, La Cocina, by Mexican filmmaker Alonso Ruizpalacios. She also appeared in Sarah Polley라이브 바카라 Women Talking. Her other work include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Her, The Social Network, Nightmare Alley and Carol, among others. While Kate was last seen in FX series Class of ’09. She has also appeared in Fantastic Four, Transcendence, The Martian, Shooter, Chappaquiddick, television series House of Cards, Pose, and American Horror Story: Murder House.
She has The Dutchman, and The Astronaut in her kitty.
