In Photos: The Deodhani Festival At Assam's Guwahati

Members of the Hindu community in Assam's Guwahati observed the Deodhani Temple. Hindu priests with faces smeared with colour and sacrificial blood participated in Deodhani Festival at the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. Goats and pigeons are commonly offered as sacrifice in the belief that participants receive supernatural power from Goddess Kamakhya during the festival held to worship the Serpent Goddess.
