A video has surfaced across social media pertaining to the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22 claiming 26 lives. The video was being recorded by a tourist who was ziplining in the Baisaran valley which accidentally captured the attack. The 36-year-old tourist from Ahmedabad has alleged the zipline instructor chanted ‘Allahu Akbar’ thrice in moments leading up to the shooting.

While speaking of the incident, Rushi Bhatt told The Indian Express, “As you can see in the video, I had shot it for fun. I did not even know that firing was on. But (the attack) was captured on my video.” He further mentioned that the realisation of the incident being a terror attack hit him after 20 seconds when he saw 4-5 people with bullet injuries on the ground below.

According to Bhatt, “My wife and my son were shouting at me and I stopped shooting the video and jumped before the end point by opening the belt. My wife told me that two people from two families were killed after asking their religion.”

The attack was one of the deadliest on Indian soil and has escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. Following the attack, India suspended the Indus water treaty, closed the Attari-Wagah border and also suspended the visas of Pakistani nationals effective April 27.

Addressing a rally in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that India will pursue the Pahalgam terrorists to the “ends of the earth”.
