Botswana are on a dominant, unbeaten run in their Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier campaign. They started with a 48-run win over Eswatini, followed it up with a 5-wicket victory against Sierra Leone, and cruised to a 10-wicket win over Ivory Coast in their third match.
Meanwhile, Saint Helena are still searching for their first win. Their campaign has been disappointing, with three consecutive losses — a 118-run defeat to hosts Nigeria, a 48-run loss to Eswatini, and a 4-wicket setback against Sierra Leone.
Apart from Botswana and Saint Helena, there are four more teams in the tournament namely - Eswatini, Ivory Coast, hosts Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Saint Helena.
Only the top two teams at the end of the 15 round-robin matches will advance to the regional final. They will join six other teams, including Namibia and Uganda, who received byes after competing in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
