The third edition of South Africa's premier T20 competition will see as many as 30 matches in the league stage before the knockouts. Just like the Indian Premier League, SA20 will have a Qualifier 1, an Eliminator and Qualifier 2 before the final, that will be held at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, on February 8.
In the final of the inaugural edition, the Wayne Parnell-led Pretoria Capitals lost to the Sunrisers by four wickets. Last February, Keshav Maharaj's Super Giants suffered an 89-run defeat in the title clash.
The Super Giants have a host of stars in their ranks, notably Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis and Chris Woakes among others. The Capitals, meanwhile, will rely on Parnell's experience as well as Liam Livingstone's big-hitting and Nepal Premier League (NPL) champion James Neesham's all-round ability.
