The Karachi Kings pulled off a dramatic 2-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League 2025 on Monday night at the National Stadium, Karachi. (Match Blog | More Cricket News)
With their backs against the wall in chase of 148, the Karachi Kings held their nerve to finish at 148/8 with three balls to spare, thanks to a match-winning all-round performance from Khushdil Shah -- unbeaten 23 run off 17 balls and earlier 3 wickets for 20 with the ball.
Put in to bat first, the Babar Azam-led side could only manage a modest 147/8 in their 20 overs.
Opener Saim Ayub had a forgettable outing, falling for just 4 off 8 balls to Mir Hamza. While skipper Babar Azam tried to steady the innings with a gritty 46 off 40 balls, the rest of the Zalmi lineup failed to find momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals and struggling to accelerate when it was needed at the slow pitch.
Alongside Shah라이브 바카라 magical spell, Abbas Afridi chipped in with a crucial 3/30 to keep the pressure on Zalmi. Mir Hamza and Aamer Jamal also kept things tight, picking up a wicket apiece.
Now, chasing the target, Karachi Kings got off to a shaky start with Tim Seifert falling for a golden duck on the very first ball of the innings off Luke Wood's delivery.
Wood라이브 바카라 brilliant spell saw James Vince (11) follow soon after, leaving the Kings at 19/2.
However, captain David Warner led from the from, scoring 60 off 47 balls, though he never quite looked at his best. With the required run rate steadily rising, Zalmi maintained pressure by striking at regular intervals.
Under intense pressure from the Zalmi bowlers -- Luke Wood (3/28) and Ali Raza (2/32) -- after Warner's departure, none of the Kings batters could cross the 20-run mark apart from Khushdil. Coming in lower down the order, he smashed unbeaten 23 to seal the deal for Karachi and hand them their third win of the season.
With this win, the Kings now move to second place in the table with 6 points from 5 matches. Meanwhile, the Zalmis sit at fourth place with only 2 points from 4 matches.
Next in their PSL 2025 campaign, the Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators on April 25, while the Peshawar Zalmis will take on Lahore Qalandars on April 24.
