Shardul Thakur picked up a stunning hat-trick for Mumbai against Meghalaya in their Ranji Trophy fixture at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai on Thursday.

Thakur dismissed Anirudh B, Sumit Kumar, and Jaskirat in the third over of the match, setting the tone early. In the following over, Mohit Avasthi claimed his second wicket, leaving Meghalaya at a dire two for six wickets after just 3.1 overs. Thakur's hat-trick is only the fifth ever by a Mumbai bowler in Ranji Trophy history.

Saurashtra are in a commanding position at 185/1 against Assam, with Harvik Desai inching closer to a well-earned century, currently unbeaten on 90. His opening partner, Chirag Jani, fell short of a hundred, dismissed LBW after a solid 80-run knock. Cheteshwar Pujara has now taken charge at the crease, settling in with 15 runs off 40 deliveries.

Harvik Desai scored a brilliant century off 139 balls, putting Saurashtra in a strong position. Alongside Cheteshwar Pujara, who has settled in well, they have built a steady 60-run partnership for the second wicket. Saurashtra stands at 210/1 and is in control.

India pacer Mohammed Siraj picks up his first wicket in the 17th over, removing Harsh Dubey for 65 off 46 balls. Vidarbha are now 178/9 against Hyderabad.

Ninad Rathva led the charge with a brilliant five-wicket haul as Baroda bundled out Jammu & Kashmir for 246 in their ongoing match. Kanhaiya Wadhawan was the standout batter for J&K, top-scoring with 71 runs, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent the collapse.

Sumit Mathur starred with the ball, claiming three wickets as Railways were dismissed for 241. Upendra Yadav top-scored with a valiant 95. Delhi now face the task of batting for the final 40 minutes of the day.

The innings break is over and Delhi start its chase currently trailing by 227 runs.

Sanat Sangwan is currently on 3, with Yash Dhull yet to get off the mark. Opener Arpit Rana was dismissed for 10 off  Kunal Yadav's delivery. With 17 overs left in the session, Delhi will need a strong partnership to close the gap. If another wicket falls, India's star batter Virat Kohli will be next to bat.

At the close of play on Day 1, Delhi are 41/1 in response to Railways' 241. Yash Dhull (17 off 25) and Sanat Sangwan (9 off 28) remain at the crease, with Delhi still trailing by 200 runs. However, what stole the show at Arun Jaitely Stadium was the buzz of Virat Kohli among fans.

Meghalaya was bowled out for just 86 in 24.3 overs with Shardul Thakur stealing the show with a brilliant 4/43, including a hat-trick. Mohit Avasthi (3/27) and Sylvester D’Souza (2/14) also chipped in with crucial wickets.

In reply, Mumbai reached 213/2 at stumps, with Ajinkya Rahane (83) and Siddhesh Lad (89) leading the charge with a solid unbeaten partnership of 170 runs. Mumbai have a 127-run lead going into day two.

Jammu and Kashmir posted 246 all-out in 71.3 overs, with Kanhaiya Wadhawan top-scoring with 71. Mahesh Pithiya (3/62) and Ninad Rathva (5/43) were the key bowlers for Baroda.

Baroda, in reply, reached 29/2 in 15.3 overs, still trailing by 217 runs at stumps.

Odisha were dismissed for 180 in 62.2 overs, with Rajesh Mohanty top-scoring with 60. Jayant Goyat (3/33) and PS Poonia (4/33) were the standout bowlers for Services.

In reply, Services reached 85/2 in 23 overs at stumps, trailing by 95 runs.

Tripura reached 230/5 in 89 overs, with S Sharath unbeaten on 66.

Maharashtra are yet to begin their reply at the close of play.

Vidarbha posted 190 runs in their first innings. Tanmay Agarwal top-scored with 53 runs.

In response, Hyderabad ended the day at 90/2, trailing by 100 runs. Agarwal remains unbeaten on 53, with K Himateja on 5 at stumps.

Himachal Pradesh posted a total of 215 all out, with Ankit Kalsi top-scoring with 53.

Gujarat, in response, ended the day at 44/2, trailing by 171 runs. Umang Kumar (4) and Manan Hingrajia (13) are at the crease.
