Kumar thus became the first player in the history of the almost eight-decade-old tournament to take all 10 wickets and a hat-trick in the same innings. It is also only the third time that a bowler has taken all 10 wickets in an innings in the tournament.

Kumar's figures read 33.5-20-53-10 as he bowled almost half of the 75 overs bowled in the innings. He took the wickets of Mohit Bhagnani, Anas and Sachin Sharma on consecutive balls in the 36th over of the innings to complete a hat-trick.

Kumar's historic spell helped Bihar bundle out Rajasthan for just 182 in the first innings at the Elite Group E match in Patna. Bihar, who had put up a solid 467 in the first innings, took a big first innings lead and told Rajasthan to follow on. Rajasthan put up a strong show in the second innings and played out 137.5 overs to eke out a draw.

Kumar did well in the second innings as well. Even though he picked up only one wicket, the medium pacer bowled 22 maidens in his 49 overs and gave away just 88 runs. His second innings figures read: 49-22-88-1.

Kumar is currently Bihar's best bowler in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy 2024 with 23 scalps to his name in four matches. His economy rate of 1.91 is among the best this season and he tops the chart for most maiden overs bowled with 75 such overs so far in the tournament.

Bihar will next be up against Maharashtra with the match starting December 6.
