After hitting back-to-back centuries in his last two T20Is, Tilak Varma continued his form and smashed 151 runs off 67 balls against Meghalaya in the opening match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He hit 11 fours and 10 sixes in his mammoth knock. Now, Meghalaya need 249 runs to win this match.

Saurashtra set a 158-run target for Sikkim in their opening games of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Vishvaraj Jadeja made 60 off 37 balls to take his team to a respectable total.

Himachal Pradesh asked Arunachal Pradesh to bat first in Mumbai's Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Bandra Kurla Complex and restricted them to 77 runs. Mayank Dagar and Akash Vasisht took three wickets each. Himachal Pradesh, in response, achieved the target in the sixth over and won the match by eight wickets.

Tilak Varma was the highlight of the match with his 151 off just 67 balls which helped Hyderabad set a 249-run target for Meghalaya. In response, they were bowled out for just 69 runs within 16th over.

Saurashtra defeated Sikkim in their opening match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. Saurashtra set a 158-run target for Sikkim but they could only make 103 runs in 20 overs as Saurashtra won the match by 54 runs.

Manipur opted to bat first and made just 86 runs as Yuzvendra Chahal claimed four wickets. Sumit Kumar also took a couple of wickets whereas Anshul Kamboj, Harshal Patel and Nishant Sindhu took one wicket each. Coming to bat number three, Rahul Tewatia made a quick 43 not out off just 16 balls as Haryana won the match by eight wickets. They achieved the target in just 6.4 overs.

Tilak Varma of Hyderabad slammed a record-breaking 151 not out against Meghalaya to become the first player ever to crack three consecutive centuries in T20 cricket history. Mumbai's Shreyas Iyer scored 130 against Goa. Uttarakhand's Yuvraj Chaudhary and AR Rohera from Pudducherry also got centuries in their respective games.

Mohammed Shami had to spend 46 runs in his four overs to get the sole wicket of Nehal Wadhera in the first round math between Bengal and the defending champions Punjab. Despite a superb start, Punjab were restricted to 179 all out in 19.4 overs. Bengal need 180 runs to win.

Just a day ahead of the mega auction for IPL 2025, Jitesh Sharma played a handy cameo to remind teams of his value. His 9-ball 27 took Vidarbha to 216/6 against Odisha in the first round match between the two sides.

Sanju Samson's 45-ball 75 set the tone for Kerala in their chase of 150 against Services. Samson cracked ten fours and three sixes in his innings which was ended by off-spinner Pulkit Narang.

An outstanding century from Shahbaz Ahmad has taken Bengal to an opening round victory against defending champions Punjab. Bengal had been reduced to 10/4 when Ahmed came to the crease in just the fourth over. The left-arm spinning all-rounder then smashed 100 in 49 balls to lead Bengal to a four-wicket victory with an over still remaining.

Baroda defeated Gujarat in the first match of both the teams. The experienced India all-rounder smashed 74 runs in just 35 balls to help Baroda chase 185 with three balls in hand. He had also taken a wicket while bowling.

Rinku Singh (70) and Nitish Rana (61) had a brilliant partnership but the duo could not lead Uttar Pradesh to a victory as Delhi rode on a wonderful century by opener Priyansh Arya to clinch the match by 47 runs.

A collective performance from the Vidarbha contingent saw them outplay Odisha and gain a 33-run win in the opening round. Karun Nair scored a 39-ball 77 for Vidarbha while Shubham Dubey, Jitesh Sharma and Parth Rekhade chipped in with cameos.

Yash Thakur had a bad outing with the ball as he conceded 44 runs in his four overs but otherwise all Vidarbha bowlers did well with Darshan Nalkande being the pick of them taking three wickets.
