Toofans garner the first penalty corner of the match and make it count. Amandeep Lakra drills in a stinging drag-flick and Pawan has no chance in goal to stop that. Hyderabad draw first blood in the 11th minute.

Toofans are on fire! It's the world-class Gonzalo Peillat with the flick this time, and he sends the ball soaring into the roof of the net. The second goal comes in less than a minute after the first one, and the Pipers are clearly rattled. Their mentor and India legend PR Sreejesh's trademark loud cries are audible, and why wouldn't they be.

A pulsating first quarter comes to an end. The Pipers need to regroup, and the mini break might help them do that.

The second quarter is underway, and the Pipers are seeking an early rejoinder. They have one! Dilraj Singh pounces on an opportunity against the run of play, sending it past Vikas Dahiya. Arthur de Sloover remonstrates with the umpire, claiming a foul but it's not to be and the scoreline now reads 2-1 in the Toofans' favour.

A bit of a hold-up in play as the umpires are referring a decision for a penalty corner. And it goes the Toofans' way, with a Pipers foot in the circle. The PC is not converted directly, but there appears to be a foot along the way. It's reviewed again, but the third umpire surprisingly doesn't advise a re-award, and the score stands at 2-1 in favour of the Toofans at half-time.

The second half has begun. The Toofans, now attacking from left to right, are crowding the Pipers circle. The Delhi franchise's defence stands tall and clears the ball safely. The lead is still with the Toofans, and in case the match ends in a draw, we will have a penalty shootout to determine who gets the bonus point.

The Pipers finally have their first penalty corner, in the third quarter of the match. But it comes to nought with the ball trickling out of danger. Toofans still lead 2-1.

A couple of close shaves later, the third quarter ends without a goal. We will head into the final quarter with the Pipers needing at least one goal to make a match of it.

The fourth and last quarter has started. You can sense the urgency in play, especially from the Pipers' end. The Toofans aren't laying back either, aware that they need one more goal to put the match to bed.

Delhi find the equaliser. Gareth Furlong converts the penalty corner with a powerful drag-flick that beats the Toofan defence. We are all level 2-2, with a fair bit of hockey still to be played in regulation time. Are we headed to a shootout?

The minutes are ticking down, and both sides are feeling the nerves. Toofans had the chance to go ahead again with a PC, but they could not convert, with Maico Casella stepping up for the flick in a variation instead of Peillat. They now have another chance, and the flick smashes into the post! Drama in Rourkela.

The hooter rings out, and we are headed for a penalty shootout. Zachary Wallace had a really good opportunity to find a winner for the Toofans, but the Pipers keeper Pawan saves it nicely and the stalemate stands. The shootouts coming up now to decide who gets the bonus point.
