The results of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 will be declared today by the Election Commission of India. The battle for the capital is between three major parties - AAP, BJP and the Congress.
Delhi Election 2025 Results: The Bharatiya Janata Party witnessed a grand victory in the national capital by winning 48 seats while AAP won 22 seats in the 70-seat Assembly. The BJP will be forming a government in the national capital after more than 26 years.

The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party is hopeful for a third consecutive term while both the Congress and BJP are vying for a comeback in the capital.
The Election Commission of India will declare the results of the Delhi assembly elections 2025 today. The counting of votes and early trends will begin from 8 AM onwards.
Apart from this, some pollsters predicted a close contest between the incumbent AAP and the BJP, with Congress winning around 1 to 2 seats in the elections. The final results will be declared by the ECI today.
According to the Election Commission data, 60.54 per cent votes were polled on February 5, 2025.
Looking at the last four assembly polls in the city, historical data showed that the voter turnout has been increasing over the years, except the 2020 assembly elections which bucked the trend.
As per data from the Election Commission of India, the total voter turnout in 2020 Delhi assembly elections was 62.59 per cent. This was lower than the data recorded for the 2015 Delhi assembly elections when the number stood at 67.13 per cent. While the 2013 Delhi assembly elections saw 65.60 per cent voter turnout, the 2008 Delhi assembly elections saw 57.60 per cent voter turnout.

According to Matrize exit poll, the BJP led NDA may get 35-40 seats, while the AAP is projected to get 32 to 37 seats. The survey gave Congress 0-1 seats.
The People's Pulse exit polls said the NDA was likely to get 51 to 60 seats, while the AAP may get just 10-19 seats. The Congress, it claimed, will not be able to open its account.
According to People's Insight exit poll, the NDA is likely to get 40 to 44 seats, the AAP 25 to 29 seats, and the Congress 0-1 seat.
The P-Marq exit poll predicted 39-49 seats for the BJP and its allies, 21-31 seats for AAP and 0-1 for the Congress.
The JVC exit poll said the BJP and allies would get 39-45, the AAP 22-31 seats and the Congress 0-2.
The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party has rejected the exit poll predictions, and is confident it will return to power for a third term. If AAP does win, it will be its third win with Arvind Kejriwal becoming chief minister for the fourth time.
Rejecting the exit poll predictions, AAP leader Gopal Rai claimed the party will get 50 seats.
The Aam Aadmi Party has been sweeping Delhi since 2015 and 2020 was not different. With a win of 62 seats, the Kejriwal-led party secured a majority and formed the NCT government again.
BJP was the second largest party with eight seats and the Congress came in last with no seats.
For the 2025 elections, AAP is hopeful for a comeback, however, it will be a close contest with the BJP, which swept the capital during the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
The Election Commission of India will begin the counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 from 8 AM onwards. The total number of seats in the Delhi Vidhan sabha are 70, of which, the winning party needs to secure at least 36 seats if form the majority.
The results of the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 will be declared today by the ECI. Ahead of the results, the Bharatiya Janata Party is hopeful it will replicate its Lok Sabha sweep and take over the capital.
If the BJP does win, it would break its 27-year-long break and form the government of the national capital.

Counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 has begun, starting with the postal ballot.
Based on early trends, the NDA alliance led by BJP is in the lead with nine seats, followed by the incumbent AAP at 7 and Congress with one lead.
The Election Commission of India has also begun counting of the votes and will soon share the number of leads each party has.
As per the early trends for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, it is a close contest between the AAP and BJP.
Based on the numbers available at 8:30 AM, the NDA alliance is leading with 14 seats, followed by AAP at 10.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said Arvind Kejriwal will become the chief minister for the fourth time, starting that the people will vote for the Aam Aadmi Party again.
"No one thought AAP will go so far. Delhi has trusted us for so many years because the AAP is above appeasement politics," she said.
The postal ballots have been counted and now the ECI has moved towards counting the EVM votes. As per early trends, the NDA alliance is in the lead with 32 seats, followed by the incumbent AAP at 25 seats. Congress party has managed to secure one seat.
The counting of votes is underway for all 70 assembly seats. As per the early trends data available at 8:53 AM, BJP has crossed the halfway mark and is leading in 36 seats while AAP is leading in 28 seats and Congress in 1 seat.
According to the latest trends being run by television channels, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is pitted against the BJP's Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi seat, was trailing.
In the Kalkaji seat, Chief Minister Atishi was trailing the BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri.
Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was also trailing in Jangpura.
The BJP's Karawal Nagar candidate Kapil Mishra was leading while AAP's Saurabh Bharadwaj was ahead in the Greater Kailash seat.

The BJP's Kapil Mishra was leading in the Karawal Nagar seat by 3,109 votes while Tilak Ram Gupta is ahead by 3,373 votes in Tri Nagar.
Saffron party candidates Sanjay Goel (Shahdara), Chandan Chaudhary (Sangam Vihar), Bajrang Shukla (Kirari) and Kartar Singh Tanwar (Chhatarpur) are also leading.
AAP's Gopal Rai (Babarpur), Durgesh Pathak (Rajinder Nagar), Anjana Parcha (Trilokpuri) and Veer Singh Dhingan (Seemapuri) are ahead of their rivals.
On trends suggesting a decisive lead for his party, BJP candidate from Kalkaji seat Ramesh Bidhuri said, "People of Kalkaji are ahead, they have voted. They don't trust Kejriwal, Atishi. The mandate is stored in the machines (EVMs) but I feel the Atishi ji's farewell is certain."
The next Delhi chief minister will be from the BJP but the central leadership will decide on who it will be, the party's Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva said on Saturday as votes were counted for the assembly elections held earlier this week.
The BJP was leading in 38 seats and the AAP in 27, according to early trends on the Election Commission website.
“The results so far are in line with our expectations but we will wait for the final outcome,” Sachdeva told reporters after offering prayers at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
On trends suggesting lead for BJP, party leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said "I believe we should wait for final results and I am certain that they will be more favourable for us. The trends suggest that the policies of BJP, under the leadership of PM Modi... the poor and deprived sections are showing faith in Modi guarantees..."
As per the data available on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, after reaching 50 seats in the early trends, BJP's number has now come down to 41 while AAP has climbed to 29 from 19.
BJP supporters erupted in celebration outside its Delhi headquarters as the latest counting trends showed the saffron party returning to power in the national capital after more than 26 years with a decisive mandate.
Supporters danced to the beats of 'dhol' and waved party flags, creating a festive atmosphere.
Holding up cutouts of a lotus, the BJP's election symbol, they also smeared each other with saffron-coloured powder.
The BJP was leading in 41 of Delhi's 70 assembly seats while AAP was ahead in 29, according to the latest trends released by the Election Commission.
With the early trends showing a significant lead for the BJP, its Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva reaffirmed the party's confidence in forming a government.

On leading in the Kalkaji assembly constituency, BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri said, "I thank the people of Kalkaji. This lead is of the people of Kalkaji. In the last 10 years, the people of Kalkaji wept tears of blood because no development work was done in the constituency."
The BJP is poised to form a government in Delhi after more than 26 years, with the latest Election Commission trends showing the saffron party ahead in 48 of the 70 assembly seats while the AAP was leading in 22.
According to the Election Commission (EC) website, the BJP's vote share was 47.01 percent till 11.55 am while AAP's stood at 43.16 percent.
Several exit polls have given the BJP an edge over the AAP, which has been ruling in Delhi since 2015. Only a few exit polls have predicted a clean sweep for the incumbent AAP government.
Conceding his defeat in the Delhi Assembly Polls, former Deputy CM and AAP candidate from Jangpura seat, Manish Sisodia said, "If the people have elected the BJP government, then BJP will have to work. If our government is formed, we will take responsibility. If there have been any mistakes, we will analyse them later and discuss them.”
Commenting on AAP's poll debacle in Delhi, social activist Anna Hazare said, "I have been saying it for a long that while contesting the election - the candidate must have a character, good ideas and have no dent on image. But, they (AAP) didn't get that. They got tangled in liquor and money - his (Arvind Kejriwal) image was dented because of it and that's why they are getting fewer votes in the election"
"People saw that he (Arvind Kejriwal) talks about character but gets involved in liquor... In politics, allegations are made. One has to prove that he is not guilty. The truth will remain truth. When a meeting was held, I decided that I would not be part of the party - and I have remained away from that day", Hazare further said.
BJP candidate from New Delhi constituency Parvesh Verma said, “I congratulate the people of Delhi. They showed trust in PM. This is the victory of PPM Modi and the people of Delhi."
When asked about the CM face, Verma said, “I will talk about it later.”

Commenting on BJP's poll performance in Delhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted on X, "BJP's landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections is a victory of faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the policies of BJP. The people of this country have faith in Modiji's credibility and the politics of good governance and development of the BJP."
Former CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal lost his re-election bid from the New Delhi seat to former two-time BJP MP Parvesh Verma.
Conceding his defeat, Kejriwal said, "Congratulate BJP for Delhi win."
He finished around 1,200 votes behind his rival, with the Congress' Sandeep Dikshit who came third in the race.
Hailing the voters in Delhi and the workers of BJP's Delhi Unit, PM Narendra Modi posted on X, " Jana Shakti is paramount! Development wins, good governance triumphs. I bow to my dear sisters and brothers of Delhi for this resounding and historic mandate to @BJP4India."

Shiromani Akali Dal senior leader Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday congratulated the people of Delhi for "exposing the lies and deceit" of AAP.
Reacting to the latest trends of AAP losing to BJP, Badal claimed that AAP "destroyed" Punjab in a manner similar to what it did in Delhi.
"I congratulate the people of Delhi for exposing the web of lies and deceit of AAP. It formed the government in Punjab by misleading the people," Badal told reporters.
Sharing a clip of his interaction with the media in a post on X, the Shiromani Akali Dal leader (SAD) alleged that AAP was engaging in massive corruption and diversion of funds in Punjab, like it did in Delhi.
"I appeal to Punjabis to pack them off in the same manner as Delhiites in the forthcoming assembly elections," Badal said.
The BJP has secured a majority in the Delhi Assembly elections, winning 40 out of 70 seats, according to the Election Commission.
The saffron party is also leading in 10 seats, while the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has secured a total of 17 seats and is leading in five more, the EC data showed.

BJP is still leading in 8 other seats in Delhi.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP's candidate from Kalkaji won the assembly seat by a margin of 3,521 votes defeating BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri.
According to the Election Commission, Atishi has got 52,154 votes whereas Bidhuri polled 48,633 votes with Congress' Alka Lamba securing the third place with 4,392 votes.
Atishi has won the Kalkaji seat for the second consecutive term.
The CM is among a few AAP ministers and senior leaders who won the elections as most of the party big guns have lost including AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bharadwaj.
BJP's Parvesh Verma, who defeated former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal from one of the most important seats - New Delhi constituency, said the party's leadership will decide the next chief minister of Delhi.
Parvesh Verma, former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma's son, also thanked people and called it "the victory of the people of the national capital".
"This is not just my victory, this is the victory of the people of Delhi, who chose truth over lies, governance over gimmicks, and development over deception. I humbly thank every voter who placed their trust in me.
"Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda, we will work tirelessly to bring a real change in Delhi. This mandate is a clear message that people want honest, transparent, and development-driven politics. My commitment to serve with integrity and dedication remains unwavering," Verma said.
Verma, former MP of West Delhi constituency, further said that a "new chapter began for Delhi" and together, "we will build a brighter future."
Verma alleged that Kejriwal did not work in Delhi in last 11 years. Kejriwal won from New Delhi seat consecutively for three times until now.
Mohan Singh Bisht of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious with a margin of 17578 votes defeating Adeel Ahmad Khan of the Aam Aadmi Party lost the seat in the Mustafabad seat.
Mohd. Tahir Hussain of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen followed with 33,474 votes and Ali Mehdi of the Indian National Congress secured 11,763 votes.
Rajan Singh, the lone transgender candidate in the Delhi Assembly elections, secured 85 votes from the Kalkaji constituency, while 556 people opted for NOTA, according to Election Commission data.
Singh (27) contested on an Aam Janta Party (India) ticket from Kalkaji, where Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Chief Minister Atishi won the election, defeating BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri by a margin of 3,521 votes.
The number of None Of The Above (NOTA) votes in the constituency was relatively high, as Kalkaji had a total of 13 candidates.
Kalkaji has a total of 1,94,515 registered voters - 1,06,893 male voters, 87,617 female voters, and five transgender voters.

The Aam Aadmi Party's loss in the Delhi polls on Saturday triggered sharp reactions from Arvind Kejriwal's former colleagues in the party and in the 2011 India Against Corruption movement who blamed his "shift" from the idea of providing an alternative politics for the defeat.
They also accused Kejriwal of shattering the dreams of those who supported the anti-graft movement.
