The fear intensifies as the immigration status of four students including Chinmay Deore from India has been terminated.
Suppose, you are studying in one of the finest institutes across the globe, you have almost caught your dreams. For this you have sacrificed everything, it can be your home, your hobbies, your favourite people even your country because the achievement feels worthy enough of leaving these comfort things behind. But one fine day, you came to know that you can’t continue further and you will be deported from the country. How will it feel?
This is the story of India라이브 바카라 Chinmay Deore. This is the reality of thousands of international students. This is the recent truth of Harvard University and the US.
Chinmay Deore is a 21 year old Indian, who entered the US for the first time in 2004 with his family. He and his family went there on a H-4 dependent visa. Back in 2021, Deore completed his high school education from Michigan and was enrolled at Wayne State University in Computer Science, which will end in May this year.
In the year 2022, Deore lawfully applied for F1 student status as the H4 will only be valid until the unmarried child라이브 바카라 age is under 21. His application was successfully granted.
On April 4, Deore received an email stated, “Our record shows that your SEVIs has been terminated this morning - TERMINATION REASON: OTHERWISE FAILING TO MAINTAIN STATUS-Individual identified in criminal records check and/or has had their VISA revoked. SEVIs record has been terminated,” NDTV reported.
Deore has never actively participated in any political protest on campus. Except for two charges, like speeding ticket and a parking ticket, Deore has never been charged with any kind of rules or codes violation.
Along with Deore, student immigration status of three more students were also terminated. Xiangyun Bu and Qiuyi Yang from China, who are currently doing masters and Ph.D. respectively from University of Michigan and Yogesh Joshi from Nepal who is also doing Ph.D. from Wayne State University are also facing deportation issues. As of April,2025, more than 300 international students’ immigration status has been terminated across various universities in the US.
The ongoing conflict between US President Donald Trump and Harvard University has taken a huge shape now. This year, Trump demanded that Harvard University implement several changes. Harvard refused to do so. In retaliation, the Trump administration has frozen over 2.3 billion dollars in research grants and federal contracts to Harvard University. And since then, deportation of international students has become a big matter of concern.
Harvard stands strong against Trump라이브 바카라 demand, and says that they will not fulfil the demands of Trump whether they get funding or not.
Alan Garber, Harvard라이브 바카라 president said in a letter posted on the university라이브 바카라 website, “No government - regardless of which party is in power - should dictate what private universities can teach”.
Trump라이브 바카라 demands include:
* Shutting down diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes. Harvard was asked to cease its hiring or admission process on the basis of race, gender, color, religion or nationality. Rather Trump demanded a ‘merit-based’ hiring process.
* Reporting conduct violations by foreign students. Harvard was asked to report any behavior of foreign students that tends towards terrorism or anti semitism. If Harvard doesn't do so, it will not be allowed to take admissions of foreign students.
* Disbandment of students particularly who support anti-American or pro-Palestanian sentiment was demanded by Trump.
* The university was ordered to conduct an external audit assessing the ideological diversity among its students and authority body.
The situation is worsening day by day which raises the concern about international students’ future and security.
