Different Federal Departments Ambushing Harvard

Harvard University is witnessing initiations from various federal departments, with IRS latest addition to the list.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields told AFP by email that "any forthcoming actions by the IRS will be conducted independently of the President."

“Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting ‘Sickness?’ Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!” Trump posted on social media on Tuesday.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday threatened Harvard that it will lose its ability to take foreign students’ admissions if by April 30 the administration does not provide records on its international student visa holders' "illegal and violent" activities. “declaring it unfit to be entrusted with taxpayer dollars,”

Why Is Trump After Harvard?

Secretary Kristi Noem said in a DHS statement, calling Harvard ground of pro-Hamas, anti-American and antisemitic ideologies.

Trump said Harvard has hired "Leftist dopes" Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot as lecturers, saying that the latter is “the worst and the most incompetent.”

"Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called ‘future leaders," Trump said on a social media platform, adding that “can no longer be considered even a decent place of learning.”

What Have Other Prestigious Universities Doing?

Yale University's Faculty Released A Letter

876 faculty members from Yale University - also an Ivy League University - released a letter saying that, “American universities are facing extraordinary attacks that threaten the bedrock principles of a democratic society, including rights of free expression, association, and academic freedom. We write as one faculty, to ask you to stand with us now.”

Without mentioning Harvard라이브 바카라 name, the letter says the leaders should “work purposefully and proactively with other colleges and universities in collective defense.”

Princeton University라이브 바카라 response

Princeton University라이브 바카라 President Christopher Eisgruber said that they had not received a set list of demands from the Trump administration but will “defend academic freedom” and the “due process rights of this university.” He added, “We are committed to fighting antisemitism and all forms of discrimination, and we will cooperate with the government in combating antisemitism,” the Guardian quoted Eisgruber.

Columbia Gave Into Trump라이브 바카라 Demands

Columbia University - the site of massive pro-Palestine protests last year - gave into the demands of Trump to get back $400 million in frozen federal funding. The university banned face masks in the campus, forbidding staging protests, reviewing Middle East, South Asian, and African Studies Department studies programs.

Obama In Support Of Harvard

Former Democrat President Barack Obama came out in support of the university saying on X, “Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions – rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking concrete steps to make sure all students at Harvard can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect.”

What has Harvard said?

Harvard President Alan Garber earlier on Monday asserted that "the University will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights," in a letter to the Harvard community, saying that these demands violate the First Amendment rights of the students.

Garber said the Trump administration's demands are not to tackle antisemitism but to regulate the "intellectual conditions" at Harvard. Calling these actions dangerous, he said this "risks not only the health and well-being of millions of individuals but also the economic security and vitality of our nation."
