In a mission dubbed 'Operation Sindoor', Indian forces struck nine spots in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir dismantling terror infrastructure in these places. The success of the operation was celebrated throughout the country and the cricket ground too witnessed the same enthusiasm. During the KKR vs CSK match, ‘Proud of our armed forces’ was displayed time and again on the big screen and the sight screen. Also, both teams stood for national anthem ahead of the game which did not happen before.
Ministry of Defence had revealed right after te strikes that India's actions are measured and non-escalatory in nature.
"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.
"These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable," the ministry said.
Meanwhile, in the game CSK massively hit KKR's play-offs qualification chances as they defeated the Super Kings in the last over.
