The 14-year-old left-hand opener batter became the fastest Indian and the second fastest overall to score an IPL century. His 101-run knock included 11 sixes and seven fours.

Not much time ago, then the 10-year-old Suryavanshi used to practice his shots on his terrace and is now breaking records at the highest stage in world cricket.

Chasing a 210-run target against GT at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Royals managed to win the match in just 15.5 overs with eight wickets to spare.

As Suryavanshi's name was etched in the golden history of the IPL, let's take a look at five key takeaway points of his knock

1. Youngest IPL Centurion

Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batter to score an IPL century with his 101-run knock at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. He is 14 years and 32 days old, and with this ton, he also became the youngest batter to score a century in T20 cricket. The previous youngest was Vijay Zol, aged 18 years and 118 days, when he scored 109 against Mumbai in 2013.

2. Biggest Partnership For RR

Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal set a record by scoring 166 runs for the first wicket, the highest partnership for any wicket for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL history. The previous record was 155 runs, established by Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal for the opening wicket against Delhi Capitals in 2022.

3. Most Sixes By An Indian In IPL Inning

Suryavanshi hit 11 sixes during his innings, which ties the record for the most sixes hit by an Indian batter in a single IPL match. He joins Murli Vijay, who also hit 11 sixes in his 127-run innings against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2010 while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Additionally, Suryavanshi's 11 sixes are the most ever hit by a batter for RR in an IPL innings, surpassing Sanju Samson's record of 10 sixes against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2018.

4. Highest Target Chased Against GT

The target of 210 that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) pursued on Monday is the highest successful chase by any team against the Gujarat Titans (GT). This also marks RR's fourth-highest successful chase in the Indian Premier League (IPL), making them the first team to win while successfully chasing a target of 210 runs or more on four occasions. Mumbai Indians (MI), Lucknow Super Giants, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have each achieved this feat three times in the IPL. In the broader context of all T20 matches, only Middlesex has chased targets of 210 runs or more as often as RR, with both teams accomplishing this four times.

5. Karim Janat's Unwanted Record

Suryavanshi scored 30 runs in the tenth over against Karim Janat, who was making his IPL debut on Monday. This is the highest number of runs any bowler has ever conceded in their first over in IPL history. The previous record was held by Varun Chakravarthy, who conceded 25 runs.
