Indian Origin Man Arrested For Vandalising Pakistani High Commission In London

Ankit Love, an Indian origin man was arrested on Sunday, amidst demonstrations against Pakistan, for allegedly smashing the windows of the Pakistan High Commission in London.

An Indian-origin man, Ankit Love, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly smashing the windows of the High Commission of Pakistan in London. The 41-year-old man- was charged with criminal damage, the Metropolitan Police said, as per PTI.

Amidst the tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, there were demonstrations on Friday by Indian community organisations to protest against Pakistan라이브 바카라 alleged support for cross-border terrorism.

Following this, Pakistanis gathered for a counter-protest, resulting in Indian and Pakistani diaspora clashing outside the Pakistani High Commission.

A Pakistani diplomat, Colonel Taimur Rahat, was also caught on camera on Friday making a threatening throat-slitting gesture towards the Indian protesters from the balcony of the High Commission building in central London.

Tensions rose on Sunday, as a large protest was called outside the High Commission of India, to counter the Pakistani demonstration.

It was on the early hours of Sunday, that reports of the man smashing the window reached the police. “He was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 April. The charge follows an incident at around 05:00hrs on Sunday, 27 April when police were called to reports of a man allegedly smashing the windows of the Pakistani High Commission in Lowndes Square, Kensington and Chelsea,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

There have also been reports of other vandalism, with eggs and saffron-coloured paint being thrown across the building라이브 바카라 exterior. The incident also showed both sides chanting derogatory slogans and making offensive gestures against each other.

Indian protesters carried “I am Hindu” placards and waved empty water bottles, allegedly saying “do you want water”, referring to India라이브 바카라 decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, as per Dawn.

Ankit Love was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
