Five police officers have been held responsible for the custodial death of Akshay Shinde. He was the prime accused in the Badlapur minor girls’ rape case.
The five officers involved included senior police inspector Sanjay Shinde of the Thane crime branch, assistant police inspector Nilesh More, head constables Abhijeet More and Harish Tawade and a police driver.
The magistrate on Monday presented its inquiry report to the Bombay High Court.
The report noted that four police personnel, who were in the van with Akshay Shinde, were in a position to handle the situation and questioned if the use of force by the police officials was justified.
The magistrate had initiated inquiry as per the law after Akshay Shinde라이브 바카라 father Anna Shinde filed a plea in Bombay HC claiming that his son was killed by the police in a fake encounter.
The magotrate report took note of the findings of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), which concluded that there was no fingerprint of the deceased on the pistol and also no gunshot residue on the deceased's hands which ruled out police's claims that he snatched the gun from them.
"The allegations made by the parents of the deceased (that their son was killed by the police in a fake encounter) found substance as far as the FSL reports are concerned," the high court said.
A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Neela Gokhale perused the report. The bench said the magistrate had concluded that five police personnel present in the van were responsible for the accused라이브 바카라 death.
The bench said that an FIR shall now be registered against the five policemen as per the law and an investigation shall be carried out.
The court asked public prosecutor Hiten Venegaonkar to inform the bench in two weeks on which probe agency would investigate the case.
The 24-year-old accused was arrested in August 2024 for allegedly sexually assaulting two minor girls inside the toilet of a school in Badlapur. Shinde was an attendant at the school.
Shinde died in an alleged police shootout while he was being taken from the Taloja prison for questioning. According to the police, Shinde was killed in retaliatory firing when he snatched the gun of one of the police personnel in the police van and opened fire.
