Congress Demands Special Parliament Sitting Over Pahalgam Terror Attack

Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have requested the government for a special sitting of the parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack after PM Modi's absence from the all-party meet.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kahrge has requested to convene a special sitting of the parliament in wake of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Along with Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also urged PM Modi for the sitting to showcase India라이브 바카라 collective resolve to deal with the brutal terror attack that claimed 26 lives.  

The Congress president wrote to the PM stating, “At this moment, when unity and solidarity is essential, the Opposition believes that it is important to convene a special session of both Houses of Parliament at the earliest.” 

“This will be a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve and will to deal with the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam on innocent citizens. It is our fond hope that the session will be accordingly convened,” he added further. 

The Congress라이브 바카라 Communications department released both the letters on Tuesday. In his letter to the PM, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has outraged every Indian. At this critical time, India must show that we will always stand together against terrorism. The Opposition believes that a special session of both Houses of Parliament should be convened, where the representatives of the people can show their unity and determination.”

The request is observed after an all-party meet on April 24 where the government states that it is committed towards taking strong actions against the terrorists. The opposition had earlier showcased their criticism over PM Modi라이브 바카라 absence from the all-party meet. 

Citing his rally in Bihar, Kharge said, “Modi prioritised Bihar election rally over the country. At least you should have come to the meeting when we had offered complete support to whatever action the government wanted to take.”
