Ukraine라이브 바카라 Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, responded on 28 April to Russian President Vladimir Putin라이브 바카라 announcement of a so-called "humanitarian" truce for Victory Day, insisting that Russia must cease fire immediately if it genuinely seeks a truce.
The Kremlin said the ceasefire would run from midnight on 8 May until midnight on 11 May, even as Moscow continues to refuse Kyiv라이브 바카라 demand for a full and unconditional cessation of hostilities as a first step towards broader peace negotiations.
"If Russia truly wants peace, it must cease fire immediately. Why wait until May 8th? If the fire can be ceased now and since any date for 30 days—so it is real, not just for a parade," Sybiha wrote in a post on X.
He added: "Ukraine is ready to support a lasting, durable, and full ceasefire. And this is what we are constantly proposing, for at least 30 days."
The Victory Day ceasefire marks the latest in a series of so-called truces announced by Moscow, all of which Russia has been accused of violating.
Earlier this month, Russia declared a ceasefire over the Easter holiday, but President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed Moscow had committed nearly 3,000 violations between 19 and 21 April. Ukraine has also alleged that Russian forces repeatedly breached a partial truce concerning attacks on energy infrastructure, brokered on 25 March.
Despite proclaiming a willingness to engage in peace talks, Russia has simultaneously pursued maximalist demands, with Kyiv dismissing such declarations as mere propaganda. Ukrainian officials point out that Russian forces have continued to escalate attacks on cities and towns across the country.
