A private school at Dwarka in Delhi received a bomb threat on Friday. The authorities concerned responded to the threat swiftly, the police said.
Emergency teams, the cops said, were dispatched to the school and classes were shifted to online mide, Business Standard reported, quoting the Delhi Police. Further details are awaited.
This incident is not the first. Bomb threats have disrupted schools in the national capital.
According to police, the threat email was sent by a student to his school. After tracing the IP address, the police located the student's home. The boy, following questioning, admitted to sending the threat. He was subsequently counseled. He was let off with a warning to his parents to monitor his behavior, the investigators said.
This follows a series of similar incidents in recent weeks. On December 14 and 17, several Delhi schools received bomb threat emails. In addition, on December 13, 30 schools across the city were targeted with hoax bomb threat emails.
South East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Kumar Singh, speaking about the December 13 threats, revealed that an investigation found the emails had been generated from outside the country.
