Following the row over the controversial remarks made by Ranveer Allahabadia on 'India's Got Lantet', a team from Mumbai Police have reached the YouTuber's house.
This visit comes after a complaint was filed against Allahabadia and other internet personalities involved in Samay Raina's comedy show.
Allahabadia, who is also known as Beer Bicpes, sparked a row after making a controversial remark on the YouTube comedy show. His remark sparked outrage across the nation, calling for legal action and a ban on the show.
Following the backlash, the YouTuber and podcaster issued an apology for the remark and stated that his comments were inappropriate and insensitive.
"My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry," he said in a video posted on social media.
His remarks also triggered a public statement from the All Indian Cine Workers Association.
"The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemns the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show India's Got Latent. Such disgraceful content is utterly unacceptable and poses a significant threat to the moral fabric of our society. We call upon all actors, filmmakers, directors, and technicians to immediately cease any collaboration with individuals involved in this show, including host Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia," read the statement issued by AICWA.
