Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for his first international trip of 2025. Over this week, the prime minister will be visiting France and the United States. These visits come after invites from French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump
Modi will be in France from February 10 to 12, 2025 at the invitation of President Macron. From Paris, the prime minister will then head to the United States for a two-day visit.

In Paris, Modi is scheduled to co-chair the third edition of the AI Action summit with President Emmanuel Macron. The AI Action Summit is a gathering of world leaders and tech CEOs to discuss how AI technology can be used for "innovation and a larger public good in an inclusive, secure and trustworthy manner."
The prime minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the opening of the first Indian consulate in Marseille. For the bilateral aspect of the visit, Modi and Macron will review the progress for the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic partnership.
After three days in Paris, Modi will head to the US to meet with President Donald Trump. As per the statement from the Prime Minister's office, the meeting with Trump will focus on strengthening the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between New Delhi and Washington DC.
"This visit will be an opportunity to build upon the successes of our collaboration in his first term and develop an agenda to further elevate and deepen our partnership, including in the areas of technology, trade, defence, energy, and supply chain resilience. We will work together for the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries and shape a better future for the world," said Modi.
Modi's visit also comes after the deportation of 104 Indians from the United States for staying in the country as illegal immigrants.
