With an unrivalled passion for cricket, Nepali fans have been longing for a 'Premier League' of their own. An ill-fated league, named Nepal T20 League, was launched by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) in 2022. But it lasted only one season.
After scrapping the Nepal T20 League, CAN is ready to conduct a successful tournament, featuring eight teams representing various regions of the country. Marketed as the 'Festivals of Himalayas', CAN has managed to sign big-name players like former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, New Zealand's Jimmy Neesham and hosts of other international stars.
