The Tigers forged their way into the second qualifier by thrashing Rangpur Riders by nine wickets in the Eliminator. Khulna first bundled out the Riders for a paltry 85-run total, then waltzed past it in 10.2 overs, losing just one wicket in the process. Nasum Ahmed was named the Player of the Match for his three-wicket haul.
The Kings, on the other hand, lost their Qualifier 1 clash against Fortune Barishal comprehensively. Barishal chased down Chittagong's 150-run target in 17.2 overs, losing only one wicket along the way. However, as it was Qualifier 1, the Kings have the safety net of getting to play another playoff match for a final berth.
Chittagong Kings finished second in the league phase with 16 points from eight wins, while Khulna Tigers garnered 12 points from six wins to scrape through to the playoffs. The two teams have faced off twice in BPL thus far, with both winnings a game apiece.
The winner of this Qualifier 2 match will meet Barishal in the final, which will be held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Friday, February 7.
