Jos Buttler smashed a sparkling unbeaten 97 off 54 deliveries as Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday (April 19). The win took the Titans to the Indian Premier League 2025 points table summit. (Highlights | Full Coverage)

Buttler struck 11 fours and four sixes as Gujarat completed a 204-run chase with four balls to spare. Sherfane Rutherford contributed 43 runs off 34 balls and compiled 119 off 69 balls for the third wicket with Buttler, their hundred-plus partnership taking Gujarat to 204-3 in 19.2 overs.

The match took an abrupt twist towards the fag end, as Rutherford was dismissed in the penultimate over off Mukesh Kumar, leaving 10 needed off the last six deliveries. Rahul Tewatia then bludgeoned a six and a four off two balls from Mitchell Starc to leave Buttler century-less at the other end.

Earlier, the Capitals put 203 runs for the loss of eight wickets on the board, with skipper Axar Patel top-scoring with 39 off 32 balls. Delhi kept losing wickets at regular intervals, as seamer Prasidh Krishna returned figures of 4-41 in four overs.

Toss Update

Hosts Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first against Delhi Capitals.

Titans captain Shubman Gill mentioned that Kagiso Rabada, currently in South Africa for personal reasons, is expected to rejoin the team within the next ten days. Gujarat Titans went in with an unchanged playing XI.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, dropped Jake Fraser-McGurk after six games, in which he managed just 55 runs at a strike rate of 105.76, with a top score of 38. Faf du Plessis remains sidelined due to an undisclosed injury. Captain Axar Patel confirmed that Abishek Porel would open and not be used as an impact substitute.

Gill noted that the pitch had more grass than usual to prevent cracks due to the heat. Axar admitted he was unsure at the toss, initially preferring to chase, but said he라이브 바카라 comfortable bowling first since the heat might ease the workload for his bowlers.
