The 28-year-old pacer had picked five wickets in the third and fourth Tests in Brisbane and Melbourne, and was short on luck with a few catches dropped off his bowling.
The Bihar-born pacer bowled 87.5 overs in the two Tests, and the injury could be attributed to the hard surfaces in Australia and the heavy workload on body.
With India trailing 1-2 in the five match series, either of Harshit Rana or Prasidh Krisha is expected to replace Akash for the Sydney Test.
However, nothing remains certain as India라이브 바카라 selection calls throughout the series have raised a few eyebrows, starting from the first Test in Perth.
