Here are the highlights of Day 2 of the first Test match between New Zealand and England at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Friday, 29th November. Harry Brook (132 not out) and Ollie Pope (77) played big knocks to help England dominate on the second day. Glenn Phillips took a stunner to dismiss Pope but Ben Stokes and Brook remained unbeaten as the visitors still trailing by 29 runs in the match. Earlier, England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bowl first. Even though England bowlers did not allow for any big partnerships to develop, all Kiwi batters managed to get some runs. The highest scorer of the first day was their former captain Kane Williamson who got out on 93. Shoaib Bashir was the most successful bowler for England with four wickets.
