Noman Ali became the first-ever Pakistan spinner to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. The slow left-arm bowler from Sanghar in Sind achieved the feat in the first session on Day 1 of the second Test against the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The 38-year-old claimed the wickets of Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair off successive deliveries in his third over for figures of 3-1-6-4 and helped reduce the Windies to 38/7 in 12 overs.
Ali thus became only the fifth Pakistani bowler to claim a Test hat-trick. Here's the table:

Noman Ali then completed a five-wicket haul in the 28th over of the innings, by trapping Kemar Roach in front, for his eighth fifer and, third in Multan. Still a one-format player in international cricket, Ali made his Test debut against South Africa at Karachi in January 2021. He entered the match with 73 scalps in 34 innings (18 matches) with best figures of 8/46.
Visiting captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and opted to bat first. But it took just 11 deliveries for debutant Kashif Ali to claim his maiden wicket. The 22-year-old right-arm pacer had Mikyle Louis caught behind in the second over, thereafter spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan took over.
West Indies' tour of Pakistan is the penultimate series of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. The finalists have already been confirmed, defending champions Australia against South Africa.
Pakistan won the first Test, also played at Multan, by 127 runs inside three days.
