Bangladesh's openers started well but lost the wicket of Fargana Hoque without adding any runs to her name. Sharmin Akhter made 24 runs off 47 balls to rebuild the innings.

Ritu Moni played a 48-run knock and was the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh. Nahida Akter also played a 19-run knock.

Fahima Khatun made 44 not out off 53 balls to take Bangladesh to a respectable score of 178/9 in 50 overs. Sadia Iqbal took three wickets, whereas Fatima Sana and Diana Baig took a couple of wickets for Pakistan.

In response, the Pakistan team lost the wicket of opener batter Shawaal Zulfiqar in the first over. But Muneeba Ali added 80 runs for the second wicket with Sidra Amin (37).

Ali went on to score 69 runs off 93 balls. She also added 74 runs for the third wicket with Aliya Riaz. Riaz remained unbeaten and also hit the winning runs. She completed her half-century with a boundary.

Despite the defeat, Bangladesh will be hoping for the West Indies women's defeat against Thailand women in match 15. If Windies managed to win with a better NRR (net run rate), they would qualify for the main event.
