The opening day of the Ranji Trophy semi-finals saw some dour batting from Kerala, which took them to 206 for four at stumps against Gujarat in Ahmedabad. Over in Nagpur, contrasting fifties from Dhruv Shorey (74 off 109) and Danish Malewar (79 off 157) powered Vidarbha to 308 for five against defending champions Mumbai.
