He has been among the foremost spin-bowling all-rounders in Indian domestic cricket recently, helping Mumbai lift the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 title in March this year. Kotian has picked up 101 first-class wickets from 33 games so far at an average of 25.70. He has also amassed 1,521 runs at a healthy average of 41.21.

The man from Mumbai had scripted history alongside Tushar Deshpande in the Ranji quarter-final against Baroda, with the duo becoming the first pair since 1946 to hit hundreds at number 10 and 11. Kotian remained unbeaten on 120 from 129 balls with 10 fours and four sixes while Deshpande fell for 123 from 129 balls with 10 fours and eight sixes, putting on a staggering 232 runs for the 10th wicket.

Kotian was previously part of the India A team, which toured Australia ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
