Four days of good contest has kept the second Test in balance. South Africa rode on centuries from Toni de Zorzi and Kyle Verreyne to put up 358 on board in the first innings. Sri Lanka replied with 328 all out helped by Pathum Nissanka's 89. Prabath Jayasuriya's five-wicket haul then restricted South Africa to 317 all out in the second innings.
South Africa had won the opening Test of the series to take a 1-0 lead.
